Your 2020 National Republican Candidates
US President: Donald J Trump
Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story, setting the standards of excellence in his business endeavors, and now, for the United States of America.
A graduate of the Wharton School of Finance, President Trump has always dreamed big and pushed the boundaries of what is possible his entire career, devoting his life to building business, jobs and the American Dream. This was brought to life by a movement he inspired in the people of America when he announced his candidacy for President of the United States in June 2015.
This movement would ultimately lead to one of the most unique Presidential campaigns in history. Ever the leader, Trump followed no rule book and took his message, “Make America Great Again” directly to the people. Campaigning in historically democratic states and counties across the country, Trump was elected President in November 2016 in the largest electoral college landslide for a Republican in 28 years.
President Trump is working hard to implement his ‘America First’ platform, continuing his promise to the American people to lower taxes, repeal and replace Obamacare, end stifling regulations, protect our borders, keep jobs in our country, take care of our veterans, strengthen our military and law enforcement, and renegotiate bad trade deals, creating a government of, by and for the people.
He is making America First, again, restoring our nation’s faith, ushering in a bright, new future now and for generations to come.
US VIce-President: Michael R. Pence
Michael R. Pence - The 48th Vice President of the United States
Born in Columbus, Indiana, Mike Pence had a front row seat to the American Dream. A family of Irish immigrants, Vice President watched his grandparents and parents build everything that matters – a family, a business, and a good name. He was raised to believe in the importance of hard work, faith, and family.
After meeting the love of his life, Second Lady Karen Pence, and graduating law school, Vice President Pence led the Indiana Policy Review Foundation and hosted a syndicated talk radio show focused on Indiana public affairs. Along the way, he became the proud father to three children.
In 2000, he launched a successful bid for his local congressional seat, entering the United States House of Representatives at the age of 40. After serving in Congress for 12 years, Vice President was elected the 50th Governor of Indiana in 2012. It was Indiana’s success story, his record of legislative and executive experience, and his strong family values that prompted President Donald Trump to select Mike Pence as his running mate in July 2016.
Since being elected on November 8, 2016, Vice President Mike Pence remains grateful for the grace of God, the love and support of his family, and the blessings of liberty that are every American’s birthright. He looks forward to working with the American people as together they seek to Make America Great Again.
US Congress, District 2: Tim Burchett
Tim Burchett - Representative (TN 2nd District) since 2019
Tim Burchett is a lifelong East Tennessee conservative, a husband, a dad, and the Republican Congressman for Congress in Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District. He ran for Congress because he was fed up with the status quo in our nation’s Capitol.
Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, Tim attended Bearden High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee.
Dedicated to serving his community, Tim has spent much of his adult life serving the people of East Tennessee. In the state legislature, Tim sponsored and supported many bills, cutting taxes, protecting American Jobs, and defending the God-given liberties of Tennesseans.
In 2010, Tim was sworn into office as Knox County mayor. As mayor, he has focused on true conservative leadership by limiting the scope of government. He defeated a massive property tax proposal, cut the county’s debt by $45 million, and fought to protect local small businesses.
Tim always stands for what is right, no matter the political cost. Tim is a proven leader who gets the job done and puts the best interests of Tennesseans ahead of petty partisanship and personal gain.
His commitment to working hard and his determination to do the right thing came from his parents, Charlie and Joyce Burchett. Charlie and Joyce grew up during the Depression, served their country and were both career educators. Tim’s father fought under Col. Chesty Puller in the Pacific during World War II. Tim’s mother learned to fly an airplane in support of the war effort, an uncommon feat for a woman in the 1940s.
Tim is also a former small businessman who started his own business, converting over 30 thousand tons of grass waste into mulch and compost. He ran a truck and trailer business. He knows firsthand how much our small businesses struggle with government regulations and incomprehensible red tape.
Tim lives in Knoxville with his wife, Kelly, and their daughter, Isabel, who has given Tim the title of “best crawdad catcher in North America.”
As the divide between Washington politicians and their constituents continues to grow, Tim wants to do what he’s always done – fight for East Tennessee. He wants to fight for the families, the factory workers, and the small business owners who make this country great. Join him.
US Senate: Bill Hagerty
Bill Hagerty - Candidate for U.S. Senate
Born in Gallatin, Bill learned the value of hard work from an early age. His parents raised him with strong conservative Tennessee values. Bill’s mother was a career school teacher, and his father, a veteran, worked road construction. As a boy, he raised pigs and cattle, baled hay, and later worked road construction like his father, mostly shoveling asphalt.
Though Bill’s father did not graduate college, he worked hard so that Bill could do so. Bill worked summers and part-time during the school year to earn his degree. With a strong academic foundation, Bill started a successful business career. But nothing was more important to Bill than to build his own family.
God smiled on Bill as He brought Chrissy into his life. Bill and Chrissy married, and eventually, they lived in the home his grandfather built in Sumner County until their second child was born. At that point, they moved into Davidson County, and today are the proud parents of four children.
Raising his family, Bill knew that he wanted to give back to his community and the state that he loves so dearly. From 2011 to 2014, Bill took leave from the private sector and served as commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Tennessee’s unemployment rate went from being above the national average when he assumed his duties in 2011 to one of the best-performing state economies in the nation. During that time, Tennessee brought in more companies and jobs than ever before, transforming the state into a national economic leader.
However, Bill wanted to do more for our rural communities, and much-needed change had to come from the federal level. That’s why Bill strongly supported Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential election cycle. During the presidential campaign, Bill volunteered full-time as Donald Trump’s Tennessee Victory Chair, where Donald Trump won 92 Tennessee counties.
After Donald Trump resoundingly won the presidency, Bill served as a senior leader of the Trump transition team. Bill quickly earned the President’s seal of approval and was tapped to serve as the United States Ambassador to Japan, the third-largest economy in the world and one of America’s strongest allies.
In his role as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan, Bill worked night and day to protect American lives from aggressive Communist regimes in China, North Korea, and Russia. In the Trump Administration, Japan became America’s most strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region. The United States has more military stationed in Japan than any other nation outside America. As the President’s representative and the Senior American in that Nation, Bill worked extensively to strengthen our military and strategic posture in this critical region. As U.S. Ambassador, Bill worked steadfastly to help President Trump secure the recent U.S.-Japan trade deal. With this deal now in effect, Japan will lower and remove tariffs on American agricultural exports, which will give a significant boost to Tennessee farmers and ranchers selling into this major market. Bill also worked tirelessly to encourage Japanese companies to invest in America. Over the past three years, Japan has committed more capital and created more new jobs in the United States than any other nation in the world.
While Bill Hagerty was successfully implementing President Trump’s America First agenda, he remained watchful of socialist Democrats in Washington, D.C., who were working non-stop to impeach the President and undermine our strong economy. When confronted with the challenges posed by the Democrats to the state of our nation, Bill felt called to serve his fellow Tennesseans, to stand up to the Democrats’ efforts to impeach our President and to stop the Democrats from implementing their extreme socialist agenda.
Before Bill even announced his candidacy, President Trump backed Bill’s decision and announced his complete and total endorsement for Bill.
More recently, as the Wuhan coronavirus continues to impact our economy, President Trump personally asked Bill to rejoin his Administration to serve as a member of the Great American Economic Revival Industry Groups. As a member of the task force, Bill is working with President Trump to get our economy going again and he is working to bring our critical supply chains back to America from China. We cannot rely on China’s state-owned companies to make so many of the products we need – including medical supplies and pharmaceutical drugs.
On the campaign trail, Bill is meeting and speaking with Tennesseans and sharing his recent experiences implementing President Trump’s policies. As your next Senator, Bill will work to strengthen our economy, bring more jobs to our communities, stop illegal immigration, defend our Second Amendment rights, protect the unborn, help build the wall and stand for our law enforcement officers, our military and our veterans.
